"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" Mary Oliver
A contagious smile. A contagious laugh. A contagious love. A contagious life full of happiness.
“I have my motorbike on which I can cruise around the village streets. I love taking my wife on joy rides, it makes me so happy. My wife just gave birth to a beautiful baby. I have all that I need right here.”
This man is affected by polio, unable to walk or work, and has a wife that is blind. He has many reasons not to use his “one wild and precious life.” He has many reasons to lie depressed in his bed. He has many reasons to do nothing. BUT this man chooses to use his “one wild and precious life” to wake up each morning with a smile and an attitude to win.
His only possession is a battery powered bicycle and he is struck by polio, yet by looking at his face one could never make this assumption. We could take a piece of advice from this man to truly live our one wild and precious life and find happiness in the little things and say, “Today is a great day to be alive.”
